The Asian International School- Top 10 schools in "TOEFL Junior Challenge 2013"

TOEFL Junior Challenge 2013 is the very first English-language competition in Vietnam that used the standardized tests created by ETS such as the TOEFL Junior test and the TOEFL Practice Online (TPO) to assess the language ability of the students. TOEFL Junior Test is the most accurate testing tool to measure the English-proficiency level of the students from secondary school to high school. TOEFL Junior is an effective tool to both evaluate the English-proficiency of the young learners and also to assess the progress of development and help improve their skills along the way.

IIG Vietnam

"TOEFL Junior Challenge 2013" attracts more than 21.000 students from 600 middle schools across the country. In Ho Chi Minh City, the HCMC Department of Education and Training and IIG Vietnam- the only official representative of Educational Testing Service (ETS) holds this competition with over 16.000 candidates. Among 102 excellent students in the final round, there are 27 students from The Asian International School out of 64 candidates from Ho Chi Minh City.

On 23/11/2013, The Asian International School is honorably named as Top 10 schools in the Closing Ceremony and Awarding Ceremony of the competition "TOEFL Junior Challenge 2013" for middle school students in Ho Chi Minh City. Participating in this competition, The Asian International School gains outstanding achievements with 699 students entering the 2th round. Among them, 8 students get the maximum score 900/900. The lowest score is 630, and the average score is 790. Especially, among 27 students in the final round achieving a score of 885/900 at least, Lam Gia Nhi (a student of class 9/28) and Nguyen Mac Khai (a student of class 9/33) achieve the Nation-ranking third prizes, and the others receive consolation prizes.

According to Mr. Doan Hong Nam, President of IIG Vietnam, students' achievements are admirable and a desirable target of high school students who want to study abroad. The outstanding achievements in the competition "TOEFL Junior Challenge 2013" are the first step to help students of The Asian International School get higher scores in the TOEFL iBT examination and be eligible to transfer or receive scholarships at many prestigious universities in the world.
