Overseas summer course scholarships 2013

1. Purposes
   In order to encourage students in academic and extra-curricular activities, The Asian International School is now announcing the Talent Seeking Contest to grant scholarships of the Overseas Summer Course Scholarships 2013.
2. How much are the scholarships worth?
   1. For AHS students
      • 1 scholarship of a 4-week EF summer course in Santa Barbara - the USA granted by EF Education First.
      • 2 EF scholarships of a 4-week EF summer course in Santa Barbara - the USA granted by The Asian International School.
      Each scholarship is worth $5,519
   2. For IPS students
      • 1 scholarship of a 2-week EF summer course in Singapore granted by EF Education First.
      • 5 scholarships of a 2-week EF summer course in Singapore granted by The Asian International School.
      Each scholarship is worth $2,625
3. Participants:
   • - Primary School IPS: students from grades 1 to 5
   • - Middle & High School AHS: students from grades 6 to 10
4. Regulations of the Talent Seeking Contest
   1. The 1^st round: from May 17^th 2013 to May 21^st 2013
      • - Candidates submit their application forms to the class teacher from May 17^th 2013 to May 20^th 2013
      • - All the candidates will participate in an essay contest on May 21^st 2013 at their campuses.
      • - The judges will make assessment and select the best candidates of the 1^st round.
      • - Candidates passing the 1^st round will join in the 2^nd round at their campuses.
   2. The 2^nd round (campus level) - presentation: May 23^rd & 24^th 2013
      • - Location: at all campuses of Middle & High School AHS and Primary School IPS of The Asian International School.
      • - Time:
        • Middle & High School AHS: 8am, May 23^rd 2013.
        • Primary School IPS: 8am, May 23^rd & 24^th 2013
      • - In the 2^nd round, candidates will make a presentation on given topics. Topics will be announced on May 21^st 2013
      • Presentation time: maximum 4 minutes.
      • Criteria for marking
        • Organization: (2 points)
        • Topic Knowledge: (2 points)
        • Audience Adaptation: (2 points)
        • Language Use: (Verbal Effectiveness) (2 points)
        • Delivery: (Nonverbal Effectiveness): (2 points)
      • Primary School IPS: The winner from each IPS campus will be rewarded the Overseas Summer Course Scholarships 2013.
      • Middle & High School AHS: The best candidates from the campus round (Pasteur & Trannhatduat: 1 candidate/campus, Caothang & Conghoa: 2 candidates/campus) will participate in the school final round at Caothang Campus 2 on May 25^th 2013
   3. The 3^rd round (school level) - presentation: May 25^th 2013 (only for candidates of Middle & High School AHS )
      • In the 3^rd round, candidates will make a presentation on given topics. Topics will be announced on May 23^rd 2013
      • Presentation time: maximum 5 minutes.

      • 3 best candidates from the 3^rd round of Middle & High School AHS will be rewarded the Overseas Summer Course Scholarships 2013. The winners (from AHS and IPS) will be announced at the flag-raising ceremony on May 27^th 2013 at all the campuses. The scholarships will be rewarded at the closing ceremony of the school year.
