Author Pam Munoz Ryan once said: “A library is a temple unabridged with priceless treasure” and this treasure is nothing else but books. Reading has long become an indispensable need on the journey towards gaining knowledge and improving one’s personality. Knowing the importance of books from the early days of its establishment, The Asian International School has made every effort to build and develop a modern, high-quality library serving the study and research needs of its students, teachers and staff.
AHS Library has a modern design, and is large and airy, providing optimal performance for reading. The library features lively decorations, with meaningful slogans printed on cute pictures.
With about 26,000 documents of 5,000 different titles, including textbooks, reference books, business books, children's books, comic books, magazines... in English and Vietnamese as well as a lot of teaching materials and equipment, AHS Library fulfills its functions and tasks of data storage, supplemtation, management, and maximally caters for the needs of students, teachers and school staff in reference, research and study in all areas; as well as meets the guidelines and long-term education plans by the school.
AHS Library pays attention to service quality, providing a space for study and high-quality research. Bookshelves are logically arranged and classified into the following categories: textbooks, teaching materials, reference books, books on English and science, stories, etc., to ensure that students can quickly find the materials that meet their preferences and needs. Students can easily find and borrow books in various fields, such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Foreign Languages, Literature, Philosophy, History, Geography, Biology, Art and Sports, or read many kinds of books in, for example, applied science, discovery or medicine; or perhaps relax with all kinds of children's books, such as comic books, fairy tales, science stories, and Vietnamese and foreign literature. In particular, there are a lot of valuable foreign language books from well-known publishers, such as Oxford, Cambridge, Penguin, MIT Press, etc.
Investment in convenient facilities and equipment allows the AHS E-Library to operate efficiently. A modern computer system with high-speed Internet connection is a useful tool ensuring that the readers can search and find materials easily, quickly and accurately.
In its quiet, airy environment, and with its convenient facilities, plentiful, abundant materials and the librarians’ professional, whole-hearted service, AHS Library has long been a familiar place and a daily destination for most of the school’s students and teachers.
