Procedures and categories

  • Flying objects
    • There are two competition categories: controlled aircrafts and tosy disks
    • - Controlled aircrafts
      • Students present about the toys before competing
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Attractiveness (5 points)
        2. Creativity (5 points)
        3. Aesthetic & safety (5 points)
        4. Competition (80 points)
          Students control the aircrafts through 3 circles in the air in ascending order (1st ,2nd and 3rd circles). Judging criteria:
          • If aircrafts don’t fly through any circle: 0 point
          • If aircrafts fly through only the first circle: 40 points
          • If aircrafts fly through the first and second circles: 60 points
          • If aircrafts fly through three circles: 80 points
          In the case that students have the same scores and their aircrafts also fly through all 3 circles, the winner will be awarded based on the controllers’ controlling skills and which aircrafts touched the fewest circles.
        5. Presentation (5 points)
    • Tosy disks
      • Students compete in groups of 2-3 students.
      • Students spin the Tosy disk. Judging criteria:
        • Fly high (Tosy fly high, low): 20 points
        • Fly far: 20 points
        • Fly beautifully: 40 points
        • After flying, the Tosy disk lands close to or in the controller’s position: 20 points
    • Running objects
      • There are 3 competition categories based on car size: small, medium and large.
      • Students present about the cars before competing
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Attractiveness (5 points)
        2. Creativity (5 points)
        3. Aesthetic & safety (5 points)
        4. Competition (80 points)
          • Cars compete parallel and eliminate each other directly. In each round, there are 2 - 3 cars running on a racing track model. The car that finish first and does not violate the rules will continue on the next round.
          • Disqualification situations:
          • + The car turns over and the controller uses their hands to correct the car and let it continue running.
          • + The car travels out of the racing track.
          • + The car misses the obstacles.
          • The car breaking the rules must come back to starting line and continue the racing track.
        5. Presentation (5 points)
    • Model assembling
      • Students compete in groups or individually.
      • For model made by students themselves: Students can prepare the model at home and assemble it by themselves in the competition.
      • Materials for making the model: optional
      • Students present about the models after finishing assembling them.
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Creativity (60 points)
        2. Aesthetic & safety (20 points)
        3. Presentation (10 points)
      • For available assembling models: Students show their models to the judging board. Base on the number of components and the model’s difficulty, the judging board will divide students into groups to ensure the equality of the competition.
      • Students give a speech after completing their models
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Attractiveness (10 points)
        2. Creativity (10 points)
        3. Aesthetic & safety (10 points)
        4. Competition (60 points)
        5. Presentation (10 points)
    • Robot
      • Students give a speech in front of the judging board
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Attractiveness (30 points)
        2. Creativity (20 points)
        3. Aesthetic & safety (20 points)
        4. Presentation (30 points)
    • Yoyos
      • Apply for 1A type (The player uses a yoyo with one end of a string attached to a finger and perform Single-handed Tricks).
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Performance skills (technique): 70 points.
        2. Performance styles: 30 points (appearance, body control, interaction with audiences, harmony of performance styles and background music).
    • Rubik cubes
      • Competition for Rubik 3x3x3
      • Judging criteria:
      • Prizes depend on the speed in which students can solve the Rubik
    • Statue painting
      • Students participate individually, 1 statue for each student
      • Students are free to choose any topic
      • Competition time: 30 minutes
      • Judging criteria:
        1. Creativity (20 points)
        2. Aesthetic (50 points)
        3. Presentation (30 points)
