Staff training - a remarkable new point in management of The Asian International School

Every year, besides training courses for all teachers, the school also takes good care of training course for the staff of all campuses. Getting and sharing experiences to improve professional competence and combining administrative and professional activities are the main contents of the school’s training program for this division.

Together with the school’s general operations, on March 21st, 2015, the Asian International School successfully held the training program for approximate 100 officers from six campuses including Cong Hoa campus, Cao Thang campus, Thai Van Lung campus, Van Thanh campus, Thang Long campus and Tran Nhat Duat campus.

To renew the methods and contents of the training course, the program this year focused on promoting the role of the participants. The officers were assigned to solve the practical simulations and role-playing to reconstruct the scene from the real simulations. The situations mentioned in the training program are very closely and meet the concerns of many officers including providing admission information for new students’ parents, instructing the process of enrollment, checking registration forms, guiding parents to visit school’s facilities and answering parents’ queries.

Each situation made the program more attractive both in contents and forms. Besides grasping essential knowledge for their job, the staffs had an opportunity to observe, listen and learn how to welcome and communicate with parents effectively and handle problems. Every situation points out a setting and has its own different solutions but the most important thing is that all the participants can get the clarity and coherence when guiding and consulting students’ parents with the school staff members’ gentleness in communication or problem-solving.

After each play, the part of giving comments and suggestions is also interesting. The staffs from many different campuses freely gave their own opinions as well as learning from the strengths and weaknesses through each situation. All the comments focused on how to consult and guide the parents clearly and flexibly in order to help parents and students quickly grasp all the school’s information, regulations, and procedures.

Finally, the managers from different departments such as Vietnamese Program, International Program, Enrollment and Finance commented and consolidated. Emphasizing the professionalism, keeping the warmth and friendliness, but still remaining the moderateness and politeness in communication, the proper manners and appearances, especially the ability to understand many aspects of life in order to solve the educational problems were heightened in each play and made the program become more meaningful and impressive to the participants.

It is a pleasure for the training course with the attendance of Ms. Do Thi Thanh Hien - the IPS International Program Manager. She introduced “Some new points of International English Program of the Asian International School in the school year of 2015-2016 followed by CIS, the top world’s leading organization of school accreditations”. Through this part, the staffs were trained carefully to have enough knowledge about English program at the Asian International School as well as the differences between the school year of 2014 - 2015 and 2015 - 2016 to consult students’ parents of the new school year.

Concluding the training course, Ms. Dang Nguyen Minh Chi, the Admission Manager emphasized the roles and duties of the staffs of the Asian International School. This is not only persuading, solving problems professionally but also giving a hand for teaching missions. To achieve those targets, the staffs need to do well the work they are responsible for as well as know thoroughly how related their own work is with other divisions and recognize the influences of manners, appearance, communication of the staff in creating the educational environment for students.

To get the highest quality education, besides the efforts of all teachers who directly educate students, the Asian International School also enhances the role of officers who have great contribution to the school's development and success. Concerning about our students, the officers are asked to report parents' thoughts and aspirations to the school, support parents and students in every circumstance, and solve services' problems as well.

The atmosphere of the ending of the training session‎ was really deep-lying with an overview of the school achievements throughout 16 years. All staff members were greatly moved thanks to the former students and parents’ grateful words to the school. Understanding what the school has brought for students, all staff members are motivated to achieve other accomplishments in the next school year 2015-2016.

The training session‎ was closed with a farewell message from Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh – Campus Manager: "Every member is a model of moral virtues, characteristics, and increasing learning to maintain traditions, visions and missions of the Asian International School, "Vietnam's spirit, global education".

The training program this year with a lot of creative improvements has given us a great chance to show our working capacity. All situations made in the training were just like a fresh start for the upcoming school year. The knowledge we have acquired is not only from the management board but also from real personal experiences, which helped build a whole new training program with many excitements for all participants. What impressed me the most after this training is "the ability to listen". I have learnt that being a good listener is the most important key in communicating and solving problems. At the end of the training, some letters were read out loud by the manager's expressive voice, which made me understand that not only I but also a lot of people have given our admiration and love for this school.
