Exchange meeting between Khan Quang Do magazine and The Asian International School students

Khan Quang Do was the first children’s magazine in the South after the Reunification of Vietnam. It was founded by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. With over 35 years of development, Khan Quang Do has become one of the biggest children’s magazines with many publications such as Khan Quang Do, Rua Vang, Nhi Dong and Muc Tim.


In the morning of November 19th 2012, Khan Quang Do magazine organized an exchange meeting “Khan Quang Do magazine – a close friend of The Asian International School students” at Pasteur campus at 226A Pasteur, District 3. The exchange aimed to commend, give gifts and rewards to student Ho Thien Nhan – the winner of the “13th Le Quy Don contest in Khan Quang Do magazine” as well as scholarships to The Asian International School students who achieved good academic performances.

From early morning, delegates from Khan Quang Do magazine were present at the school to attend the flag-raising ceremony with The Asian International School students. To represent Pasteur campus, all students of class 6/4 and Le Khanh - a student of class 7/1 performed the two beautiful songs "Shining Friends" and "Crazier" to welcome the delegates.

Reporter Thu Le, representative of Khan Quang Do magazine, gave a reward to congratulate Ho Thien Nhan on his outstanding achievements. Thien Nhan shared his feelings of joy after defeating thousands of students nationwide to become the winner of the contest as well as his learning experience.

In addition, Khan Quang Do magazine’s representative gave gifs to The Asian International School and the class teacher of Ho Thien Nhan for training such an excellent student who is good at both the Vietnamese and International English programs. They also thanked the school for providing ideal conditions for all the students to participate in the annual Le Quy Don contest.

In addition, Khan Quang Do magazine rewarded two scholarships to two students Nguyen Quynh Mai Anh – class 7/3 and Mai Trong Nhan – class 8/1 for their outstanding academic achievements.

The Asian International School has many students who read Khan Quang Do magazine and participated in the annual Le Quy Don contest. For encouragement and to praise the spirit of the students, Khan Quang Do magazine also gave 10 gifts to the students with good academic performances and those who read Khan Quang Do magazine regularly.

In the exchange, the students also participated in quizzes with prizes. Most of the questions about history given by reporter Thu Le were answered quickly and accurately. The Asian International School students were praised by Khan Quang Do magazine for their very good knowledge of history. Most of the students volunteered to answer questions and show the knowledge they have learned at The Asian International School.

Also in attendance was singer Cao My Kim, one of the winners of the “Style” contest in 2007 held by Muc Tim magazine who is now drawing a lot of attention in V-pop showbiz. In the exchange meeting, she performed songs about teachers, schools for the occasion of Vietnamese Teacher's Day (20/11/2012). With her sweet voice, friendly and open personality, Cao My Kim impressed many students. Music along with applause of the audience added to the lively and jubilant atmosphere.

The exchange ended successfully. It brought joy and excitement to all The Asian International School students. Ms. Tang Ngoc Thuy - Vietnamese Program Manager sent her best wishes and thanks to Khan Quang Do magazine for its enjoyable activities and contests, helping students improve their knowledge and capabilities. All the students at Pasteur Campus sang the song "Hello Teacher" to say goodbye to Khan Quang Do magazine delegates and promised to continue to take part in the "14th Le Quy Don contest on Khan Quang Do magazine" in the coming year.
