Lesson demonstration of Physics subject at District level

In the morning of November 28th 2012, The Asian International School held a district level lesson demonstration of Physics which was undertaken by teacher Le Thanh Tin of Tran Nhat Duat campus. This was one of the annual demonstration activities held by The Asian International School in order to give an opportunity to the teachers to enhance their professional abilities and exchange experience with other colleagues. The demonstration was attended by representatives of secondary schools in District 1 and Physics teachers at The Asian International School.



The overview of the teaching demonstration session

The representative of The Asian International School - Ms. Le Thi Thanh Nhan reported that the subject of the teaching demonstration session was the implementation of new teaching and assessment. The assessed standards included teaching knowledge, skills of the curriculum, an oriented basis for the teachers, helping them instruct the lesson creatively, flexibly, and effectively.

With advanced teaching methods at The Asian International School, the teachers always consider students the center of awareness, overcome teaching styles of “teacher reads, students write down”, “learning by heart without understanding” which do not promote students’ positiveness in the learning and testing process.

The teaching demonstration session was on the topic “Learning Acsimec Force” of the 8th grade Physics textbook. With a modern teaching method, teacher Le Thanh Tin made the atmosphere of the demonstration session lively and exciting right from the beginning. Physical concepts, theories were gradually presented through vivid illustrations that Mr. Tin had carefully prepared with a modern, eye-catching electronic lesson plan. All the participants felt excited and listened with concentration.

The students acquired the knowledge fast and felt excited at practical activities in class. With the “study and practice” method, applying theories into real life, the lesson not only gave the students adequate knowledge but also broadened, enhanced their practical understanding in a lively way.

As usual, after the demonstration session was time for teachers of the subject group to evaluate, give comments about the lesson as well as contribute their opinions on how to make it better. The general comment of the teachers was that the Physics demonstration session of teacher Le Thanh Tin was pretty good. This was one of the teaching demonstration sessions promoting the role of students as well as teaching methods, experience and ability of the teacher quite well.

With clear, loud voice, it was easier for the teacher to draw attention of the students. The lesson was prepared carefully, meticulously. The outline was clear. There were also good questions, vivid, eye-catching and attractive pictures. The classroom was fairly large with all necessary equipments for the students’ learning. This was one of the advantages compared to other schools in the city. The The Asian International School’s students were active and vivacious, taking part in the lesson lively. All of these things made it a really good lesson.”

The workshop ended in great success. The Asian International School attaches special importance to facilities and equipment investment as well as regularly organizes workshops, teaching demonstration sessions in order to improve the quality of teaching and training, giving the students interesting, creative lessons and the most importantly thing is to evoke their excitement and passion for learning at The Asian International School.
