Watching summer 2013 plays with AHS students

On 27/7/2013, The Asian International School held a visit to Saigon Drama Theatre at 130 Cao Thang, District 3 for students attending summer courses at the school. This was a useful extracurricular activity helping the students to better understand the art of drama. Furthermore, this activity gave them comfort after studying hours and helped them understand family love and current social problems.

All students were highly enthusiastic and excited when watching the play "Oan Hon" by author Dang Ninh, director Tan Hoang, with the participant of the actors and actresses Tan Hoang, Manh Trang, Huu Nghia, Viet Ha, Bich Tram, Huynh Ngan, Do Thuy… This play was set meticulously with the best sound and lighting effects increasing the enjoyment of the audience. This play is about a happy family which is suddenly devastated when the wife is killed by a traffic accident. The content of this play shows moral degradation of human beings and it also calls upon people to be aware of driving. This work has a value of education and humanity.

AHS students had a relaxing experience many different emotions from surprise, pleasure, humor to nervousness when watching the play. Especially, they had a chance to spend time with their teachers and friends experiencing simple things in life. Moreover, the play and its values helped the students learn about responsibilities when participating in traffic, respecting family love and realizing moral values.

Watching drama is a meaningful and useful extracurricular activity in the summer attracting the students' participation. The play "Oan Hon" brings the students many valuable lessons. The school hopes that the students will be comfortable, excited and more effective in learning after this activity. This is exactly what the Asian International School teachers expect and they will always create the best learning environment for the students.

Nguyen Pham Thien An – a student of class Elementary 1

"Going to theatre is a useful extracurricular activity for us in the summer. All of us are happy and excited. The content of the play makes me feel emotional because it shows valuable family love. Especially, the play also calls upon people to be responsible when participating in traffic. The lesson I have learned after watching the play is to follow the traffic regulations, to be responsible for what we have done and not to use money to hide the crime".


Liem Khanh Phong – a student of class Elementary 3

"Going to the theatre is really interesting. The actors and actresses were really excellent when expressing their roles successfully. They also transmit important messages to the audience. My friends and I really like participating in extracurricular activities like this. We feel so comfortable like we are taking in an exciting trip".


Thai Uyen Nhan – a student of class Elementary 1

"The visit to Saigon Drama Theatre is very meaningful. We have difference emotions such as happy, sad, nervous and scared when watching the play. I am very touched by the loss of Tien's family. His family is not rich but full of love. However, he is dead because Mr. Phat drives carelessly after drinking alcohol. The play teaches me how to be responsible when participating in traffic".


Tran Nhuan Giai – a student of class Elementary 3

"The play "Oan hon" is very interesting, but it made me feel nervous and scared because of an awful ghost scene. The stage is set meticulously and the actors and actresses are excellent. I hope that the school will organize many trips like this for us".


Tran Duc Khoi – a student of class 3

"The play is very interesting and meaningful. I really like the humorous scene in the play. We were comfortable when watching the play. At awful ghost scene, all of us were very scared and my female friends scream loudly. The play brings us many difference emotions. I really like the play and I would like to say thank to the school for giving us a meaningful extracurricular activity like this".
